Henry Moore

Leeds Art Gallery

4 March – 12 June 2011

This is a major exhibition that reasserts Henry Moore's place at the forefront of modern sculpture.

Henry Moore Suckling Child, 1930 Pallant House, Chichester

This brings together the most comprehensive set of Moore's works in a generation, presenting over 100 of his sculptures, drawings, carvings and bronzes. This exhibition sets out to explore a rarely seen, darker, more sexualised side to Moore's work. In doing this, it exmines the deep impact of the new ideas circulating in the aftermath of the conflict, on Moore's work. With such a wide range of Moore's work available, the exhibition is also able to examine in depth the image of the mother and child, which Moore called his "fundamental obsession".
