Visit to Ruthin Gaol and Ruthin Craft Centre

  • Ruthin Gaol / Ruthin Craft Centre |
  • Guided Tour |
  • Thursday 15 March 2018 - 10:30 until 15:30

The day begins with guided tour of Ruthin Gaol.  There has been a gaol (jail) on this site for at least three centuries. The complex includes the impressive and sophisticated ‘Pentonville Block’, which has been converted into a state of the art archive repository and visitor attraction.

After a break for lunch at the Ruthin Craft Centre Cafe, the visit will continue to the Ruthin Craft Centre galleries to see the “Made for Table” exhibition of contemporary tableware arranged by The Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths of the City of London. Georgia Powell, Assistant Curator, will give a brief introduction and then a guided tour around the exhibition, highlighting particular objects for discussion.

This event has been organised by the Clwyd Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
