The Art and Cultural Highlights of New York

  • New York |
  • Guided Tour |
  • 14 – 20 March 2018 - 09:00 until 19:00

This special visit will begin with a guided tour of the sights of the city, and a harbour cruise to see the New York skyline, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.  There will be a morning visiting the Rockefeller Centre, including the view from “The Top of the Rock” and then an afternoon at the Lincoln Centre with a backstage tour of the Metropolitan Opera House.

The focus of the visit is the city's famous art galleries – the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Guggenheim Museum, the Frick Collection and the Whitney Museum of American Art

Three of the afternoons are free so you can select from suggested optional visits such as the Empire State Building, Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) or visit your own favourite – Central Park, The Cloisters, The Highline, Grand Central Station, The National Academy or the Museum of Fine Art.

A member of the Art Fund Devon Committee will be happy to arrange a visit to the opera if there is enough demand.

Included in the package: • Virgin Atlantic Flights to JFK airport • Accommodation in Park Central Hotel on Seventh Ave • Entrance fees • Boat trip • City and occupancy taxes • Coach travel to organised visits • Trip supervised by an experienced “Tailored Travel” tour manager

This event has been organised by the Devon Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
