Thomas Chippendale: Master Craftsman, Designer and Entrepreneur - Sold out

2018 marks the tercentenary of Thomas Chippendale. To celebrate, this lecture will explore the renowned cabinet maker’s rise to fame through the publication of his great book of designs, The Director, and his subsequent ability to create furniture of the highest quality in a wide variety of styles for the most demanding of customers.

The speaker will be James Lomax, Curator Emeritus of Temple Newsam House, West Yorkshire, and curator of the Chippendale tercentenary exhibition at Leeds City Museum (9 February - 9 June).

The lecture will be preceded by a two course lunch with a vegetarian option available.

This event has been organised by the York & East Yorkshire Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
