Gluck: Art & Identity
- Brighton Museum & Art Gallery |
- Talk and Tour |
- Thursday 22 February 2018 - 14:00 until 16:15
A private talk and tour of this detailed exploration of the life of the artist Gluck.
This major exhibition explores the life and work of the 20th century artist Gluck (1895-1978) who became a Society painter but who is now also recognised as a trailblazer of gender fluidity. Portraits, land and seascapes and floral paintings are all included along with other evidence of Gluck’s singular and defiant life – clothing, accessories, photographs, press cuttings and personal ephemera.
Curators Amy de la Haye and Martin Pel will give an introductory talk to the exhibition and will highlight some of the key things to look out for. The group will then explore the exhibition with Amy and Martin staying in the gallery to answer any questions or hear any observations from the group.
This event has been organised by the Sussex Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
