Matthew is an acclaimed painter, author and illustrator who has written and illustrated many books, including a beautiful book on Stoke.   His talk will describe the evolution of Stoke from its inception during the Industrial Revolution, through its serious decline, to its regeneration in which he and Emma played a very important part. The talk is a love song to the city and Matthew is a hugely knowledgeable and entertaining speaker.
