  • Wednesday 18 October 2017 - 10:00 until 12:00

This is a special opportunity to visit The Firs, Elgar’s Birthplace, shortly after its re-opening this Autumn. This museum has been refurbished and is beginning an exciting new phase under the management of Michael Smith and his team from Croome, and South Worcestershire National Trust.

This fascinating museum tells the story of Sir Edward Elgar, his music and his deep connection to Worcestershire life. Elgar personally requested that this humble cottage on the outskirts of Worcester should be the site at which his music would be remembered in order to celebrate the lasting inspiration he found in the surrounding landscape. There will be an introductory talk about Elgar and the museum, followed by guided tours of the cottage and grounds.

This event has been organised by the Worcestershire Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
