- Start at Strathclyde University |
- Guided Tour |
- Tuesday, 26 September 2017 - 10:30 until 15:00
The heart of medieval Glasgow, this spinal street still retains a great deal of interest and tells the story of Glasgow’s past. This walk will explore streetscapes and interiors looking at both historical aspects as well as very modern development. Led by architectural historian and former Chairman of the Architectural Heritage Society of Scotland (AHSS), Michael Davis, the walk will start with the modern Strathclyde University complex and go via Cathedral Square, visiting the Barony Church and Provand’s Lordship before walking down the High Street and ending at St Andrew’s in the Square for lunch. After lunch, the tour will end with a visit to St Andrew’s by the Green and the Homes for the Future project.
As well as lunch, the tour will include coffee at the Cathedral House Hotel and a pre-lunch drink at Babbity Bowster.
This event has been organised by the Strathclyde Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
£35 (includes lunch and pre-lunch drink)
