- Chawton House Library |
- Talk and Tour |
- Wednesday 31 May 2017 - 10:30 until 15:30
Chawton House Library is an internationally respected research and learning centre for the study of early women's writing from 1600 to 1830. It is set in a quintessentially English manor house which once belonged to Jane Austen's brother, Edward. Jane Austen's House Museum is the only house where she lived and wrote which is open to the public. There will be talk and tour of Chawton House in the morning, then lunch and an opportunity to explore the garden. It is then a short walk to Jane Austen's house for an introductory film and an opportunity to explore the house and garden.
Please note transport is not included.
This event has been organised by the Surrey Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
