St Oswald's Church Ashbourne and Tissington Hall

In the morning at St Oswald’s Church, view the stunning burial monuments dating from the 14th - 19th century. Additionally, the guide will describe the many fine examples of stained glass.

In the afternoon visit, the Grade II listed Tissington Hall, a 17th century mansion house, the home of Sir Richard and Lady Fitzherbert, in their family for over 400 years. The Jacobean building faces directly onto the main village street, and boasts fine oak panelling, a plasterwork frieze and portraits by Thomas Hudson and Angelica Kaufman. 

Lunch is optional at the Coach and Horses, en route from Ashbourne to Tissington, where a table will be booked if numbers are sufficient. Alternatively, there are places to eat in Ashbourne or Tissington.

This event has been organised by the South Yorkshire Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
