- Visit and Talk |
- Thursday, 18 May 2017 - 10:30 until 12:00
In the 18th century Viscount Cobham and Richard Temple-Greville employed some most celebrated architects to create a fine neo-classical masterpiece at Stowe House. Set in an Arcadian landscape with temples, follies and pavilions, the house is famous for its north and south façades and its Marble Saloon that has been recently restored. Now owned by the Stowe Preservation Trust whose custodian, Anne McEvoy, will guide us through the recently restorations, and the plans for future works.
After the tour members may wish to have lunch at the National Trust café and explore the gardens designed by Capability Brown.
