Goya - Sold out
- Linnean Society of London |
- Study Day |
- Thursday 23 March 2017 - 11:00 until 16:30
This study day, with Dr Jacqueline Cockburn, will focus on the extraordinarily versatile and fascinating artist Goya. It will be argued that Goya’s reassessment of the past is precisely what makes him so modern. This, coupled with his extraordinary techniques of painting, had a major impact on artists such as Picasso. Later in life, Goya’s so called ‘black paintings’ reflect his bitterness and fear, his acute sense of loneliness and despair.
