A tale of two cities

  • The Menuhin Hall |
  • Lecture |
  • Tuesday, 21 February 2017 - 10:00 until 12:00

Oxford and Cambridge appear similar in  many ways.  In this lecture Dr John Davies will compare the architectural heritage of these two famous settlements; their flourishing universities dating from the Middle Ages, the style of architecture and the nature of both towns which in reality are poles apart. His talk traces the origins of both places of learning and compares their architectural development and styles over five hundred years until the start of the modern age, finishing at the end of the 19th century.

You can apply for this event from January 2017
