The charisma of Caravaggio

  • Preston Grasshoppers Rugby Club |
  • Lecture |
  • Monday, 21 November 2016 - 10:30 until 12:00

The revolutionary influence of Caravaggio is well known through his use of light, darkness and drama and this is the first exhibition in the UK to explore the impact of his work on his contemporaries and followers.

Fenella Billington will lecture on The Charisma of Caravaggio. Her lecture will cover the life and works of Caravaggio; it will draw attention to the artists and art movements who followed him and copied his style, and so it will provide a background for anyone who wishes to visit the Beyond Caravaggio at the National Gallery.

The lecture will be held at Preston Grasshoppers Rugby Club, PR4 0AP, which is 5 minutes from the M6 Junction. Coffee will be available from 10.30am.

This event has been organised by the Lancashire Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
