All the world's a stage - artists' responses to entertainers

  • The Menuhin Hall |
  • Lecture |
  • Wednesday, 16 November 2016 - 10:00 until 12:00

Over the centuries artists had been intrigued by entertainers, understandably, as the aim of both is to create a world of illusion and make believe. Inigo Jones’s court masque designs, Velázquez’s court dwarfs, Daumier’s street performers, Degas’s ballet dancers, Toulouse-Lautrec’s cabaret performers, Picasso’s acrobat family – these and many more will both inform and entertain.

This event can be booked from October 2016

This event has been organised by the Surrey Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
