Donatello and the sculpture of the Italian Renaissance
- The Menuhin Hall |
- Lecture |
- Wednesday, 19 October 2016 - 10:00 until 12:00
Donatello may have been born over 600 years ago, but his sculpture is so powerful that it still speaks directly to us today. Jo Walton will consider the huge range of his sculpture, with its delicate idealism, startling realism and the astonishing emotional force of his later works, setting it against the vivid and colourful world of Italian politics in the age of the Renaissance.
This event can be booked from September 2016.
This event has been organised by the Surrey Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
£18 (includes coffee beforehand, wine/juice afterwards)
