Churches visit

  • Tarrant Crawford Church |
  • Talk and Tour |
  • Thursday, 15 September 2016 - 10:30 until 16:30

In the company of Dr Tim Connor, the tour starts at Tarrant Crawford (south west of Blandford), a tiny church in the shadow of a vanished medieval nunnery, containing 14th century wall paintings. Then to the hilltop church of Chalbury, a complete 18th century interior inside a much older building. Picnic or pub lunch and on to Cranborne, late Norman of much interest. The tour finishes at Wimborne St. Giles, a remarkable combination of an 18th century building with a rich interior by Ninian Comper, and also splendid memorials to the Earls of Shaftesbury.

Please note transport is not included.

This event has been organised by the Dorset Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
