Following morning coffee, the day starts with an introduction to the Devon Rural Archive based at Shilstone. The library has a wealth of archive material on Devon’s manor houses, farmhouses, parks and gardens.

After a sandwich lunch at the archive, there is a private tour of award winning Shilstone House, painstakingly restored over a number of years to its former Georgian splendour by current owners, Sebastian and Lucy Fenwick. The tour includes the gardens with their double terraces, medieval fishponds, walled garden and unique 17th century water theatre. The house and gardens have wonderful views across the South Hams.

This event has been organised by the Devon Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
