The private guided tour will explore key periods in Stowe’s history through the stories of past residents: from its creation under Viscount Cobham, through the Dukes of Buckingham and Chandos, to the rebirth of Stowe as a school. Purcell, architects and advisers to Stowe House Preservation Trust, will present a special illustrated lecture on this century’s monumental restoration programme, returning Stowe to its former glory.
