As a sequel to Inquisitive Eyes - Slade Painters in Edwardian Wessex by Gwen Yarker there will be a visit to the exhibition curated by Gwen Yaker at the Royal West of England Academy, Inquisitive Eyes: Slade Painters in Edwardian Wessex, 1900 -1914, revealing for the first time the importance of the Wessex landscape at a pivotal period in British art when Purbeck played host to an informal artist colony featuring artists such as Augustus John, William Orpen, John Everett, Philip Wilson Steer, Henry Tonks,  and Vanessa Bell. 

There will be free time for lunch and a chance to visit the Bristol Museum and Art Gallery or The Georgian House Museum or The Red Lodge Museum all three in easy walking distance. 

The coach will depart at 16.30 from the Royal West of England Academy.

This event has been organised by the Somerset Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
