The original Apothecaries’ Hall, built in the mid-17th century, was destroyed by the Great Fire in 1666. Rebuilding work was completed in 1672 and included an Elaboratory for the first ever large scale manufacture of drugs. It is the oldest extant Livery Company Hall in the City with the first floor structure and arrangement of the great hall, courtroom and parlour remaining as rebuilt between 1668 and 1670. It houses many examples of paintings, furniture and apothecary jars from the period.
This event has been organised by the London Events Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
