Join us dragon hunting. In the 17th century dragons started appearing in the City of London. They support the coat of arms and guard the entrances to the Square Mile. They glower down from the tops of tall buildings and burrow underground. This guided walk explores both the legendary and factual history of dragons – City beasts in particular – in iconography and heraldry. During this unique tour the City guide, Karen Chester, will reveal where they are hiding in signage, sculpture and stained glass.
Meet at Monument Tube Station inside the Fish Street exit.
This event has been organised by the London Events Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
