- Wednesday, 27 January 2016 - 10:30 until 13:45
In the 12th century, the Knights Templar built a round church by the Thames, which became known as the Temple Church. After the Order was abolished in 1312, lawyers occupied the site forming into two societies, one of which was the Inner Temple.
Our visit begins with coffee and an introduction in one of the elegant rooms of Inner Temple followed by a tour round the building and the Main Hall.
With special permission we then enjoy lunch in a beautiful private dining room in the Benchers Apartments overlooking the gardens. After lunch we proceed to Temple Church for a recital on the Temple’s magnificent Harrison & Harrison organ by one of the country’s finest organists.
This event has been organised by the London Events Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
