  • Wednesday, 11 March 2015 - 11:00 until 15:00

In 1608, James I granted the land and buildings of the Temple to two of England’s four ancient societies of lawyers, the Inns of Court. Guests will have a privately guided tour of Middle Temple visiting the private Bench apartments and Hall. We will then enjoy a three course buffet lunch in the Great Hall, probably the finest of the surviving Elizabethan halls, completed in 1570.

Afterwards we will take a short walk down the lane to 2 Temple Place, the magnificent neo-Gothic mansion, built by William Waldorf Astor on the Victoria Embankment for a guided tour of the house and temporary exhibition ‘The Extraordinary Hidden Collections of the Industrial Northwest’.

Includes coffee/tea and biscuits on arrival, 3 course buffet lunch.

This event has been organised by the London Events Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
