‘This is the room,’ said Mr Churchill, ‘from which I will direct the war.’ Situated in once-secret underground wartime headquarters, the Cabinet Room, map-room, secret trans-Atlantic ‘phone, Prime Minister’s bedroom and the rooms surrounding them remain just as they were when the war ended.

After an introductory talk by Director Phil Reed, guests are free to wander in these uncannily time-frozen and evocative rooms using an audio-guide.

The innovative and award-winning Churchill Museum will also be open – the interactive displays portray Churchill’s life and create a multifaceted portrait that reveals the private as well as the public man, his flaws as well as his prodigious talents.

This event has been organised by the London Events Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
