A further opportunity for a private visit to this fine Caroline manor house, which was built in the early 1680s and enhanced in the 1750s: a period of innovation in English interiors. A beautiful octagonal salon was inserted and exceptional Rococo plasterwork. The house is not generally open to the public and its owner, Benjamin Wiggin, has generously offered to host our guided tour. We will also visit the adjoining All Saints Church, which was re-built to resemble London churches of the 1680s retaining a C.13th tower.
Following the visit, a 2-course hot and cold buffet lunch has been arranged in the Library at the nearby Ettington Park Hotel. Ettington is a spectacular neo-Gothic mansion in the Stour valley, home to the Shirley family which still farms the surrounding estate.
