Day visit to Dumfries House

- Thursday, 5 June 2014 - 10:30
During an Art Fund Committee visit in 2010, Dumfries House had recently been purchased by HRH The Prince of Wales. Since then, The Great Steward of Scotland's Dumfries House Trust has made huge progress in the refurbishment and restoration of this exceptional 18th-century house and its unique collection of original Chippendale furniture.
Members will be welcomed by the Curator Charlotte Rostek who will update us on developments and progress in both house and policies. Two groups of 20 will then be escorted on a private tour, after which we shall meet up again for a glass of wine and a private lunch where the curator will be in attendance to answer any questions. In the afternoon, members are free to join a short tour of the grounds.
The visit includes morning coffee on arrival, introductory lecture from the Curator, a grand tour of the house including upper floor, two course lunch with wine and an opportunity to see developments in the grounds.
