For 400 years the 'authorised version' of the Bible has helped to shape Christian and literary heritage, as well as inspire artists and illustrators.  Michael Wheeler will examine how from the end of the 18th century, high quality illustrated versions provided the context of commissions for artists such as Benjamin West, JMW Turner and John Martin amongst others - work in which word and image complemented each other in ways that made sense to contemporary audiences.

This event has been organised by a local supporter group to help raise money for the Art Fund.
