Seeing Through Paintings: Conservation and Discovery of Hidden Paintings

The speaker will be Rupert Featherstone Director of the Hamilton Kerr Institute, University of Cambridge, one of the world's leading centres for the conservation of easel paintings.  While at the Royal Collection and in India, he worked on paintings by Titian, Rembrandt, Zoffany, Stubbs, Caravaggio and Rubens and more recently on the great Lambert Barnard panels in Chichester Cathedral and the Cobbe portrait of Shakespeare.  

This event has been organised by a local supporter group to help raise money for the Art Fund.
