Picasso’s painting ‘Guernica’ holds a unique position in history and in world art and has never lost its relevance or its magnetism.
The talk by Patricia Halliday will trace the story and symbolism of this iconic painting, from inception to final resting place, through the overlapping contexts of Picasso's life, Franco's Spain, the Paris Expo, the destruction of Guernica, Paris Expo and the afterlife.
This event has been organised by a local supporter group to help raise money for the Art Fund.
