From Belfast to Sennen Cove - A lecture by Ken Howard

- Wednesday, 3 October 2012 - 12:30
Ken Howard is one of the Royal Academy's most successful artists, and his contributions to the Summer Exhibition are always highly sought after. Ken, who is a member of the Art Fund, will tell us about his life as an artist, describing paintings of his studios in London and Cornwall, and talk to us about his artistic use of light. He will also discuss his time in Belfast, having been appointed to the Imperial War Museum as official war artist in Ireland in 1973 - the first since the end of World War II. Out of this period came the work Ken considers to be one of his finest: Ulster Crucifixion, which was purchased with the help of the Art Fund in 1995, and now resides in the Ulster Museum in Belfast.
This event has been organised by a local supporter help group to raise money for the Art Fund.
