Top Ten places to wow your Dad!

Father's Day is almost here, but don't panic – we’ve hand-picked our favourite venues for the perfect day out. From Old Masters in Suffolk to Spitfires in London, there's something for every dad to enjoy. Plus, you can get 50% or more off entry for many trips out with the National Art Pass – the ultimate gift for any art-loving dad...

1. Brooklands Museum, Surrey
50% off entry with National Art Pass

Visit the world's first purpose-built motor racing circuit for a journey through motoring and aviation history. The iconic banked corners of the Brooklands circuit have been out of use since 1939 but there is still a wealth of exhibits to experience, from a giant aircraft-engined racecar to the first Concorde built in Britain.

2. British Music Experience, London
50% off entry with National Art Pass

Live the rock 'n' roll dream on Father's Day at this museum of British pop music. The British Music Experience is home to over 600 pieces of music memorabilia – from John Lennon's glasses to Noel Gallagher's guitar – as well as the Gibson Interactive Studio, where visitors can play, sing and record on professional equipment.

3. Ickworth House and Gardens, Suffolk
Free with National Art Pass

With over 1,800 acres of parkland designed by Capability Brown and paintings by Velázquez, Titian and Poussin, Ickworth has the full package - plus a lovely cafe to put your feet up after all that hide-and-seek in the gardens.

4. The Historic Dockyard Chatham, Kent
Free with National Art Pass

Discover over 400 years of maritime history as you 'meet' characters from the past. Displays include a working ropery, HMS Cavalier, HMS Gannet (a Victorian naval sloop) and HM Submarine Ocelot. Life on the ocean wave indeed.

5. The Hepworth Wakefield, Wakefield
Free to all

Discover this stunning Art Fund Prize-shortlisted gallery by the internationally acclaimed David Chipperfield Architects. Inside you’ll find an extensive permanent collection of 20th-century art. At the heart of this core collection sit a large number of pieces by Barbara Hepworth herself, who grew up in the city. Your dad will also love the beautiful river setting and wildlife-watching opportunities thrown in for free.

6. Imperial War Museum, London
50% off exhibitions with National Art Pass

There’s a display of stunning exhibits in the central hall, including a Battle of Britain Spitfire, a V2 rocket, a 1918 tank and a London bus used as troop transport during the First World War.
