This guided walk by the river is led by Robert Hulse, Director of the Brunel Museum, and takes in the site of Edward III’s summer palace; the Church of St Mary the Virgin, Rotherhithe; and the exact spot where the Mayflower set sail. The walk ends with tea and delicious home-made cake at the Museum and (for the intrepid) a viewing of the Grand Entrance Hall of Brunel’s tunnel under the Thames – accessible only via a low doorway and temporary staircase.
