The site of the General Cemetery of All Souls, one of England’s oldest, most beautiful and prestigious burial grounds, was consecrated by the Church of England in 1833 and rapidly became the resting place for aristocrats, writers, artists, scientists and a wide spectrum of the famous and the infamous. The funerary monuments themselves represent every shade of taste, fashion and architectural design. We will explore in small, guided groups and, for the intrepid, a visit to the catacombs awaits.
*Note for 1 May only: After the tour, lunch will be served at The Dock Kitchen restaurant, which overlooks the Grand Union Canal.
