The Drawings by Leonardo Da Vinci: A Diamond Jubilee Celebration

  • The Waterhall, Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery |
  • Lecture |
  • Wednesday, 25 January 2012 - 10:30 until 12:30

A lecture by Mr Martin Clayton, Senior Curator of Prints and Drawings, The Royal Collection, Windsor Castle.

Ten of Leonardo da Vinci's finest drawings in the Royal Collection will tour five venues across the UK.

They have been selected to reflect Leonardo's use of different media and the extraordinary range of his painting and sculpture, engineering, botany, mapmaking, hydraulics - activities and anatomy.

Birmingham is to host Ten Drawings and we are most fortunate to have the curator of the exhibition, Dr Martin Clayton, introduce these works of Leonardo da Vinci at an exclusive lecture organised by the Art Fund.

Those fortunate to attend the National Portrait's Leonardo Exhibition will have heard Mr Clayton as one of the voices on the audio guide. Following his talk you may wish to visit the Leonardo exhibition or have lunch in BMAG's excellent Victorian Tea Room.
