The York and East Yorkshire Art Fund Branch have organised a Coach Trip to Bradford to see the exhibitions currently on at the National Media Museum and the Cartwright Hall Art Gallery.
First stop will be the National Media Museum where, after coffee and croissants there will be a series of insightful tours of the highlights of the exhibitions and collections.
Following the tours there will be time to visit the temporary exhibitions and the very interesting galleries showing the development of photography and cinema, including TV booths where you can select your favourite program from the Museum's extensive archive.
There will be a break for lunch with several options, including bringing your own packed lunch. After Lunch the group will continue to the Cartwright Hall Gallery.
The Cartwright Hall Gallery is a superb example of 'Bradford Baroque' set in the spacious Lister Park. There will be an introductory talk by the Gallery's Curator, after which there will be time to explore the newly opened Connect Gallery. David Hockney's Bigger Trees near Water will also be on display.
This is a great opportunity to visit renowned national museum and gallery in a district not easily accessible by train.
