The Museum tells the unique and fascinating story of the Order of St John, from its origins in founding a hospital for pilgrims in 11th-century Jerusalem through to its role today in the St John Ambulance and the St John Eye Hospital in Jerusalem.
St John has maintained its caring role, working in countries throughout the world on humanitarian projects. We will be given a guided tour of the Museum's diverse, recently refurbished collections, which explore all aspects of the Order's history and include rare manuscripts, silver and armor, as well as historic first-aid equipment and memorabilia from the institution's role in the First and Second World Wars.
The site also has links to Shakespeare, Hogarth and Dickens and includes a 16th-century church (a chapel of Henry VIII's palace).
