Closed for major refurbishment since 2009, the Portrait Gallery re-opens on St Andrew's Day, 30th November 2011.
The worlds first purpose built national portrait gallery has been restored to its original designdramatically increasing exhibition space and facilitating regular changes in displays.
This much loved building, a magnificent Art and Crafts 'palazzo' in the heart of the classical New Town, shared with other organisations since it opened to the public in 1889, has only recently become fully availible to the National Galleries of Scotland.
James Holloway will guide us on his personal tour of the highlights of the new displays.
There will be two identical tours, one starting at 11.30am and the second at 2.30pm. Each tour will last an hour, with maximum of 25 people on each.
