Stanley Spencer and the English Garden is an Exhibition which focuses on a crucial, but hitherto ignored aspect of Spencer's work - being his garden views and landscapes of the 1920's, 30's and 40's.
The Tour will encompas spending the morning at Compton Verney, an award winning art gallery housed in a Grade 1 listed mansion, built after 1711 by John Townsedn and subsequently remodelled in the 1760's by Robert Adams.
Following the Exhibition Tour there will be a chance to have lunch in the cafe or picnic in the garden before leaving for Stratfor on Avon. The tour will include Shakespeare's Birthplace, Halls Croft or Nash's House which is all free with the Art Pass.
