A Summer Evening with the Art Fund at the Lord Leycester Hospital

  • Lord Leycester Hospital |
  • Reception |
  • Wednesday 20 July 2011 - 19:00 until 21:30

This event is a real treat. Refreshments will be served on arrival either in the Courtyard or in the Guild Hall if the weather is inclement. If fine, at 7.30 The Master, Lt Col Gerald Lesinski, will lead a tour of his beautiful centuries-old garden, normally closed to the public. Following this, in the Great Hall, CBSO violinist Byron Parish and viola player Cathy Bower will perform a half-hour recital of Mozart and Bartok. Finally, to round off the evening there will be an entertaining talk by Stephen Deuchar, Director of the Art Fund and former head of Tate Britian, who will speak on his 'Desert Island Discs' of British Art and answer questions from the audience.

Apart from assuring a thoroughly enjoyable social event, our Summer Evening with the Art Fund is a valuable opportunity for our members to bring at least one non-member with the aim of demonstrating benefits of membership and gently encouraging them to join on the evening (with a special discount) or at some point in the future.
