Turvey House dates back from 1794 and is situated in picturesque countryside next to the Great Ouse in North Bedfordshire. Built in the Neo-classical style, the house contains a fine collection of 18th and 19th century English and Continental furniture, pictures, porcelain, objets d'art and books. There will be a tour of the house and an opportunity to visit the gardens. There may also be a chance to visit the parish church of All Saints, described by Pevsner as 'large and very rewarding'. Of particular note is the ironwork on the door attributed to the 13th century Thomas of Leighton and the 16th century monuments of the Mordaunt family.
