This guided walk by the river is led by Robert Hulse, director of the Brunel Museum, and takes in Edward III's summer palace; the Church of St Mary the Virgin, Rotherhithe; locations where Dickens set scenes in Little Dorrit; and the spot where the Mayflower set sail.

The walk ends with tea and delicious home-made cake at the Museum, and (for the intrepid) a viewing of the Grand Entrance Hall of Brunel's tunnel under the Thames – undergoing restoration, this Neoclassical structure is visible for the first time in 140 years.

Please note: access to the underground chamber is via a low doorway and temporary staircase.
