Visitors to this 17th-century merchant’s house can enjoy viewing outstanding collections of Oriental and European porcelain, Stuart needlework pictures, Georgian furniture and the Benton Fletcher Collection of Early Keyboard Instruments, examples of which are sometimes played by music scholars during open hours. The delightful grounds surrounding the house include formal hedges and topiary, a sunken rose garden, a vegetable garden and a 300-hundred-year-old orchard.
