The Mercer Gallery, Harrogate, will be opened on the 13th May 2011 for a private view exclusively for the West Yorkshire Art Fund to view this major exhibition. Curated by the irrepressible Jane Sellars, this show represents the first comprehensive appraisal of the artist's work for 20 years. Not only will it include examples of Grimshaw's familiar moonlit scenes, but also some of his less familiar work as well as exceptional loans from private collections. These latter works are of particular interest, as they will rarely be available for the public to examine. There will be a tour of the collection where any questions can be answered.

After visiting the exhibition, arrangements have been made for you to have dinner (at your own expense) at the excellent, highly recommended nearby restaurant Quantro, which is situated on the roundabout adjacent to the Crown Hotel. Here, on production of your Art Fund membership card, you will be entitled to a free glass of wine. A perfect end to a pleasant evening: food for body and mind!
