After coffee and scones at The White Swan in Pickering there will be an introduction to the watercolour artist and former Pickering native Francis Nicholson (1753-1844). This will be followed by a tour of the town led by members of Pickering's Civic Society. After lunch, a visit to Ebberston Hall. Its owner, Mrs de Wend Fenton, will give a guided tour of her Palladian property built in 1718 by Colen Campbell. An elaborate water garden still remains in the grounds. After the tour, afternoon tea and biscuits at the Grapes Inn, Ebberston.
