Visit: The Jen Jones Quilt Centre and Roderic Bowen Library

The Art Fund Powys branch is re-scheduling the talk and tour of the collection of the Welsh quilts at the Jen Jones Quilt Centre after the event was cancelled due to bad weather. The event begins with coffee and tea at the Centre after which Jen Jones will give a talk about its collection of quilts. The Centre opened in 2009 and celebrates the Welsh Quilt and the importance of it as a regional art form steeped in tradition. Jen has been buying, selling, and collecting Welsh quilts for 30 years.There will be a chance to view the exhibition there and Jen will be able to answer any questions. A buffet lunch will follow. Then, a visit to the Roderic Bowen Library and Archives, University of Wales. Caroline Pilcher, the curator, will introduce the library and archives before giving a talk on a range of books specially selected for the visit.
