Treasures of the Arts and Crafts
- Gloucester Cathedral |
- Study Day |
- Saturday, 26 March 2011 - 10:00 until 13:00
This study morning, from the popular series held under the auspices of the Dean and Chapter of Gloucester Cathedral, will be led by Susan Hamilton, an Arts and Crafts specialist. It provides an opportunity to learn about key personalities of the Arts and Crafts movement, their ideas and works of art they have left for our enjoyment.
Gloucester Cathedral is a treasure-house of work by leading figures from the movement, with more than 20 works from glass to sculpture and from silver to bronze from the period of 1880 to 1920.
The Cathedral tour will include the Chapter House, which is not normally open to the public, and the Treasury for an exclusive look at three original pieces of Arts and Crafts church plate.
