An opportunity to visit Pollok House, the ancestral home of the Maxwell family for over 700 years. Built in 1752 and designed by William Adams, it was gifted to the City of Glasgow in 1966. It now displays paintings, glass and silver ware, porcelain and furniture. After a cup of coffee, a guided tour of the House will take place. A two course lunch will follow after which the visit will continue to the Tramway: premises of the Scottish Ballet.
The company employs 36 full time dancers to perform a wide range of classical and modern ballets. Scottish Ballet are an award winning company at the forefront of international dance. The tour of their purpose built premises will begin at 3.00 pm where a talk will be given on the activities of Scottish Ballet. At 4.30 pm there will be hopefully an opportunity to take a look at a rehersal of Alice by Lewis Carroll, choreographed by Ashley Page.
