To complement the exhibition Jan Gossaert’s Renaissance, National Gallery Lecturer Rebecca Lyons presents an hour long illustrated talk specially arranged for Art Fund members. She will be taking an in depth look at the work and themes of Jan Gossaert, who was a leading Netherlandish painter of the early 16th century. The National Gallery holds one of the largest and finest collections of Gossaert’s paintings in the world, including the The Adoration of the Kings acknowledged as a Gossaeert masterpiece, this painting was bought by the Gallery in 1911 with help from the Art Fund. Afterwards with timed tickets for 12pm entry, we view the newly opened exhibition, which includes many of the artist’s most important paintings alongside drawings and sculptures by some of his contemporaries.
