Visit: Gorhambury
- Gorhambury House |

Old Gorhambury, built in the 16th century, was home to Francis Bacon,
Viscount St Albans, a philosopher, lawyer and writer. Near the ruins of the
house stands Palladian Gorhambury House, built about 1780 by the architect
Robert Taylor. The present house has an extensive collection of family
portraits transferred from the old house. Lady Veralum has kindly offered to
lead a guided visit to her home. She is an artist in her own right and often
exhibits her work in London galleries.
